X-Rite Goes Beyond Color to Measure the Appearance of Complex Coatings at American Coatings Show 2020

Attendees can see the latest X-Rite color measurement innovations and learn how integrated solutions help streamline color formulation and quality control to reduce waste and speed approvals.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich., February 18, 2020 – At the American Coatings Show, March 31 – April 2 in Indianapolis, Indiana, X-Rite Incorporated and Pantone LLC, global leaders in color science and technology, will showcase the latest technology that goes beyond color to measure the appearance of complex pigments and coatings. With integrated color measurement hardware and software solutions, X-Rite supports every step of the manufacturing process from color communication to formulation, measurement, and quality control.

“For paints and coatings, color, metallic effects, gloss, texture and reflection play a vital role in helping to differentiate products,” said Richard Roth, VP of Product Innovation, X-Rite and Pantone. “At the American Coatings Show, X-Rite will demonstrate next-generation measurement solutions that go beyond measuring color to capture appearance characteristics. Attendees will learn how to integrate these solutions into a digital workflow to streamline color formulation and quality control in order to meet strict standards while reducing waste, time and effort.”

In booth 2649, X-Rite will demonstrate a range of solutions that help paint and coatings companies achieve new colors with greater accuracy and manage color harmony across locations and suppliers.

Color Communication and Formulation Solutions

Color iMatch Formulation Software is designed to accelerate color development. It features a next generation match engine that delivers better color matches in fewer steps for faster formulation times, cost savings, and reduced waste for a more sustainable process.

Ci7860 Sphere Benchtop Spectrophotometer enables reflection and transmission measurements across opaque, transparent, and translucent materials to create the most accurate digital color standards for use in formulation of colorants.

Connected Solutions for Quality Control

MA-5 QC Multi-Angle Spectrophotometer is the newest addition to the X-Rite family of multi-angle spectrophotometers. It is ideal for quality control of metallic and effect finishes and is 60 percent faster, 50 percent lighter, and 40 percent more compact than other multi-angle devices on the market. Combined with EFX QC software, MA-5 QC ensures color harmony across an integrated supply chain.

MetaVue VS3200 is a non-contact imaging benchtop ideal for measuring color on powdered or liquid colorants without contamination and improves color formulation and quality control.

VeriColor Spectro is a compact, durable inline spectrophotometer ideal for industrial manufacturing applications and can seamlessly communicate with formulation, production and quality control systems.

Color iQC Software is a unique, job-oriented color quality control solution that streamlines color measurement, reporting, and recording to maintain a centralized, cost-efficient process. This helps to reduce waste, improve efficiency and support faster color evaluation.
