Calibrating the DTP12, DTP32, & DTP36

Densitometers and colorimeters all require periodic calibration to ensure accurate measurements. Begin by locating the Auto-Cal strip (PN DTP32-100). It is located in a protective envelope. This is a certified media. It should be cared for and replaced every 18 months. An expiration date is printed on both the card and its protective envelope. To calibrate:
 

• Apply power to the meter; wait until its self-test concludes.
• Access the main menu via pressing the two right-hand keys at the same time.
• Using the first key, press repeatedly until the word "cal" appears on the LCD.
• Press the "cal" key.
• Next press the "den" key. The unit will immediately respond by calibrating its transmission optics. Do NOT insert the calibration media yet!
• When prompted, insert the Auto-Cal strip. The unit will pull the strip through. In a few seconds it should beep, display "CALIBRATION OK", and then return to its main menu.
• Return the Auto-Cal strip to its protective envelope.
