As of eXact 2 FW version 2.0, firmware will no longer be available to download as a standalone. The latest FW release will only be accessible via the latest eXact 2 Suite software, which can be found on the eXact 2 Product Support page.

Important Note: Due to security reasons, after installing this update - you will not be able to downgrade your firmware.

The eXact 2 firmware release 2.0.414 supports all eXact 2 models and introduces the following improvements:

This update includes:

• Stability Improvements:
• New Print Characteristics function support for the Density Tool
• Temperature alert pop-up screen displays if an over temperature condition is detected
• Temperature warning icon to status bar if device is within 5 degrees of alert levels
• Fixed measurement button locking issues
• Fixed issues with custom libraries that include Pantone Standards

• Other Improvements:
• Additional security updates and fixes
• Overall stability and performance improvements
• Various bug fixes

Known Issue with this 2.0.414 Firmware:

We have discovered a bug where if the device has low battery, the FW is incorrectly reporting "Temperature Alert" and will not allow the device to be used.

This is not a safety concern, the device has its own means of protecting itself from an overheating event, but this false alert will prevent you from using your eXact 2 device until you connect it to power.

Due to Cyber Resiliency Act requirements, starting with eXact 2 Firmware 2.0 - we are no longer support firmware downgrades. Therefore, we can provide the following countermeasures:

Temporary Countermeasure: (Immediate)

• Plug the device in via USB to continue use 

Mid-Term Countermeasure: (late July)

• We are preparing a release of eXact Suite 2.1 that will include a button to push a command, overriding the Temperature Alert

Permanent Countermeasure: (~September)

• Firmware 2.1 will fix this bug moving forward

Performance Tips:

• For optimal performance, maintain no more than 200 standards in the Quick Standards Library. Clear the library when it is not in active use.
• X‑Rite recommends lowering the Video Targeting Timeout to improve overall device performance. Navigate to Device Settings > Power Settings > Targeting Timeout to make this change
