GMG Supports X-Rite i1Pro 3 Family of Spectrophotometers

Combining i1Pro 3 color measurement devices with GMG ColorProof and GMG ProofControl allows printers and converters to quickly calibrate their proofing printers and verify that digital proofs comply with industry standards such as FOGRA.

GRAND RAPIDS, MI, June 23, 2020 – X-Rite Incorporated and Pantone LLC, global leaders in color science and technology, today announced that GMG’s proofing  software supports the new i1Pro 3 Family of color management solutions. The combination of GMG ColorProof, GMG ProofControl and the i1Pro 3 color measurement instrument allows printers and converters to quickly and efficiently verify digital proofs for color accuracy based on industry standards such as Fogra PSO and PSD. As a result, printers are able to deliver consistent results that meet customer requirements each and every time.

“With this new collaborative solution, users benefit from an easier, more reliable, and much more efficient way of working,” said Jens Bloeck, Product Manager for Proofing at GMG. “Users no longer need to worry about the challenges of dealing with different measurement conditions.”

GMG is the leading developer and provider of high-quality color management software solutions. With more than 35 years of experience in the graphics industry, the GMG brand provides high-quality solutions across the field of color. GMG ColorProof enables printers and prepress operators to create color-accurate proofs in compliance with all globally accepted printing standards. Along with GMG ProofControl, it offers reliable quality control of digital color proofs based on a defined standard. This ensures that the proof accurately simulates the subsequent printing process.

More accurate, reliable and twice as fast as its predecessor, the i1Pro 3 Family is ideal for professionals who require accurate color from their printer, display, and projector. The i1Pro 3 simultaneously measures M0, M1, and M2 in a single pass allowing prepress and print operators to quickly predict how colors printed on optically-brightened substrates will look under different lighting conditions. The i1Pro 3 can be used in automated measurement workflows with the addition of the i1iO3.

“X-Rite is excited to extend our longstanding relationship with GMG to the new i1Pro 3,” said Ray Cheydleur, Printing and Imaging Product Portfolio Manager, X-Rite. “The i1Pro and GMG software have long been part of the proof production and verification toolkit for many users. With the new i1Pro 3’s improved speed and flexibility, press operators have the ability to read more patches per target and verify color accuracy in one pass.”
