Polycarbonate and its blends are incredibly versatile materials, offering a wide range of potential appearances even going beyond the limits of AxF today. However, our product comes in pellet form, which is far away from the final product or a designer’s vision. Traditionally, tooling and injection molding processes have been required to give these materials their desired shape and appearance. Imagio® aims to overcome these limitations by offering the digital material base for photorealistic virtual prototyping and computer-aided simulation processes. Based on X-Rite's Total Appearance Capture and other technologies, we create digital material twins empowering our customers to visualize and explore the full potential of our materials without the need for physical prototypes. We will give some insights into the challenges of digitizing an extensive sample library which is today distributed over multiple locations worldwide.
