Windows 10 Support Has Ended: What You Need to Know

Windows 10 End of Support: What It Means for Your Business
Microsoft officially ended support for Windows 10 on October 14, 2025. This means no more security updates, patches, or technical support—leaving systems running Windows 10 increasingly vulnerable to security threats and compliance risks. If your business relies on legacy software or hardware, now is the critical moment to plan your upgrade path and ensure your operations remain secure and efficient. For X-Rite Industrial Formulation or QC users, this means now is the perfect time to transition to our latest version of Color iControl, X-Rite’s modern solution for color management which includes Color iMatch for color formulation and Color iQC for quality control.

Why Upgrade Now?

  • Security Risks: Without ongoing updates, Windows 10 devices are exposed to new vulnerabilities. Upgrading to Windows 11 or other supported platforms ensures your data and systems are protected.
  • Compatibility: Modern software and hardware are optimized for Windows 11, offering better performance, new features, and ongoing support.
  • Future-Proofing: Upgrading now helps you avoid last-minute disruptions and positions your business for future technological advancements.
  • Improved User Experience: Windows 11 introduces a modern, intuitive interface and productivity enhancements that streamline workflows.

X-Rite Systems No Longer Supported on Windows 11
The following legacy X-Rite systems are not compatible with Windows 11 and are no longer supported:

  • Color Master: End-of-life status confirmed; users are encouraged to transition to Color iControl.
  • Legacy USB-only devices: Devices that rely solely on outdated USB drivers may not function correctly.
  • Color iMatch or Color iQC software v9, v8: Applications not updated for Windows 10 or later are unlikely to run reliably on Windows 11. Users are encouraged to upgrade to v10.

Why Upgrade to the latest version of Color iControl?

  • Windows 11 Compatibility: Color iControl is fully supported on Windows 11, ensuring seamless operation and future-proofing your workflow.
  • Improved Security: Built on modern architecture, Color iControl offers robust security features to protect your data.
  • Modern User Interface: Enjoy a streamlined, intuitive UI designed for efficiency and ease of use.
  • Expanded Functionality: Benefit from advanced features like our multi-flux technology which delivers optimal first match, Search and Correct, and enhanced pass/fail indices.
  • Ongoing Support: Receive updates, training, and technical support from X-Rite’s expert team.
