Good color control starts with ensuring that monitors are calibrated for accurate color appearance in design and prepress. Use the X-Rite i1Pro 2 to calibrate your monitors.

It’s also important to ensure that printed proofs and sheets are viewed under controlled lighting such as that provided by the Judge QC. Not sure about the lighting conditions? A fast easy way to ensure that prints are being viewed in true daylight is to affix a Pantone Lighting Indicator to printed sheets.

Finally, using a spectrophotometer such as the X-Rite eXact to acquire spectral measurements that can be quickly and easily compared against a digital specification target ensures that customer expectations are met.
