X-Rite Donates Color Management Solutions to Idealliance for Its G7 Programs

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich., November 24, 2015 – X-Rite Incorporated, a global leader in color science and technology, and its subsidiary Pantone LLC, today announced the donation of its i1 Family of color management solutions to Idealliance® for use at its partner laboratories at Cal Poly University and the Rochester Institute of Technologies. The universities are leveraging i1 calibration and ICC profiling solutions, including the new i1iSis 2, as part of Idealliance’s G7 Master and G7 Process Control Master Qualification programs.

Idealliance has processed thousands of G7 qualification submissions from print service providers through its partner evaluation laboratories at Cal Poly University and the Rochester Institute of Technologies Printing Arts Laboratory. In addition, the partners process submissions from industry leading technology companies, who submit systems to Idealliance for evaluation of conformance to the latest industry standards.

"Processing these submissions requires that data is accurately and consistently evaluated,” says Steven Bonoff, Executive Vice President, Idealliance. “Idealliance has entrusted our partners at X-Rite to provide state-of-the-art measurement devices for use by our evaluation partners. The donation and use of these devices contributes to the trust members place in the many certification programs offered by Idealliance. We thank X-Rite for their continued support of Idealliance and our industry. Our partnership supports the print industry in its continued evolution from being an art and craft, to one that is science-based, driven by data and process conformance."

“Through our donation with Idealliance, Cal Poly University and the Rochester Institute of Technologies, we are able to support the G7 program and further advance color workflow processes,” said Ray Cheydleur, Printing and Imaging Portfolio Manager of X-Rite. “The X-Rite family of measurement solutions provide G7 printers with the flexibility and automation required for end-to-end workflow from profiling to the pressroom. We look forward to continuing our strong partnership with Idealliance.”
