X-Rite eXact Scan Receives 2015 InterTech Award

July 27, 2015 by Tim Mouw

Each year the Printing Industries of America selects the most innovative graphics arts solutions to receive the 2015 InterTech™ Technology Awards. This year, the X-Rite eXactTM spectrophotometer with Scan Option was among the recipients of this prestigious award.

Today we’ll take a look at the top features that make the eXact with Scan Option a star with offset litho, flexo, and digital printers.

X-Rite eXactTM Scan; InterTech Award

  • X-Rite eXact is the only device that measures for optical brighteners for both inks and substrates. It also fully supports all ISO Measure standards (a.k.a. “M” standards), and measures true M1 Part One and matching daylight throughout the entire visible spectrum, while conforming to the UV range metamerism index. The eXact can also capture M0, M2 and M3 simultaneously in less than one second for both spot and scan readings. The eXact touch screen makes it easy to toggle between modes and view M0, M2 and M3 measurements.
  • eXact Scan uses Zebra – an integrated trackless measurement wheel – so users don’t need rulers or backing to guide measurements. eXact Scan’s single axle keeps the device moving in a straight line, so users can read patches at any speed and still get consistent measurement results.
  • X-Rite eXact provides fast, portable measurements, and the color touch screen is intuitive and very simple to use. Wireless operation, plus untethered calibration, specification, and data capture, allows operators to use the eXact Scan anywhere on the floor.
  • The device can be customized for individual operators, showing the processes they use most often at the top of the list, for faster measurements and less human error. Since storage is on the device, job presets and color libraries can be accessed quickly.
  • eXact Manager is included with eXact Scan, and can be used to set several different configuration options right inside the eXact, including easy transfer of data to Microsoft® Excel® from Spot Measure and Scan modes.
  • When combined with eXact DataMeasure or other software, almost any color bar can be scanned. The device just needs to know the patch size and the number of patches, not the color differences or separation bars between patches.
  • All leading print specifications are supported, including ISO, Japan Color, G7, and PSO, making it’s easy for operators to monitor their print color processes.
  • The eXact can be enhanced with a range of hardware and software options to provide easy color management at an enterprise level, including ColorCert, PantoneLIVE, InkFormulation and NetProfiler.

Who else gained this recognition?
