The "Mammography Quality Standards Reauthorization Act of 1998" was passed by Congress in September of 1998. Shortly thereafter it was unanimously approved by the Senate and signed into law by Bill Clinton. The act becomes effective on April 28, 1999 and will affect facilities that perform breast diagnostic (mammography) imaging.
