Network Error Message with iControl

“I get a Network error message when I try to run Color iControl!” The error is caused by a conflict in CrypKey drivers. What you are doing with your install is correct. Everything looks fine. This conflict is caused by old versions of the CrypKey drivers mixed with new versions. This may not be directly related to your application. There are many software applications that use CrypKey. They all use drivers if on XP, NT, 2000 or 2003. It is possible that another application that the customer is using has not been updated and caused the initial conflict. Once it is resolved it usually will not occur again. To correct the problem have the user perform the following steps:

1. Restart your computer.

2. Without running Color iControl go to your C:\Program Files\GretagMacbeth\Common Files\Control. You will find a batch file named Remove_CrypKey.bat. Double click on this file and it will uninstall the CrypKey drivers and delete all the CrypKey files. After this process is complete, reboot your system.

3. You must now install the latest version of Color iControl and it will automatically install the current version of the CrypKey program. After the Color iControl software is finished installing, you must reboot your system again. Your system should now be functional.
