Connecting to a Windows operating system

When installing calibration software on a Windows based system including XP and Vista, there are drivers that also need to be installed to allow the USB device to connect to the computer, this is something that is commonly known as Plug and Play. The root cause of most USB issues is that the customer plugs the hardware into the computer BEFORE installing all required supporting software. When this is done, the "Found New Hardware" wizard launches but is not able to complete the installation. Either the customer cancels or the wizard aborts leaving the task incomplete.The steps below will walk you through resolving a partially installed device.

With the device connected to the operating system:

 

If device manager shows that the driver is installed correctly and you have already tried to Scan for new hardware but the device is still not being recognized by the software, you may need to reboot the operating system for these changes to completely take over.
