InkFormulation Software is a fast, accurate, consistent ink formulation, storage, approval and retrieval solution for offset, flexo, gravure and screen-printing inks. In this course, you will learn the basic settings of IFS; as well as how to create a basic formula, correct a formula, use graphical displays, and connect to PantoneLIVE.

The end of each module contains questions to check your knowledge as you go. At the end of this course you will need to complete the final exam, consisting of these knowledge check question, to earn your certificate of completion.

Module One: Getting Started

In this module, we will familiarize you with the IFS interface. General Settings, Formulation Settings, and Display Settings will all be covered.

Module Two: Creating a Basic Formula

This module will guide you through the process of formulating a basic recipe.

Module Three: Formulating a Correction

If you proof a formulation and the coating weight is wrong on press, if you mis-weigh an ink, or if your ink color isn’t within tolerance, you can formulate a correction in the software.

Module Four: Graphical Displays & Printing

Once you have built a profile and a set of rules, they can be assembled into a ColorCert job. A ColorCert job is used during production and QC to measure, monitor and report on the color and print quality of each press run.

Module Five: Using PantoneLIVE

IFS offers a number of ways to view your formulations graphically as well as many different options for printing a recipe. This module will take you through some of the available views and printing options.

Module Six: Using PantoneLIVE

The PantoneLIVE plugin with IFS provides access to the PANTONE+ Formula Guide and allows users with a PantoneLIVE production license the ability to access dependent standards and private libraries available within the PantoneLIVE cloud. This module will show you how to connect to PantoneLIVE and formulate a PantoneLIVE recipe.
