Calibration errors for CF/CFS57U and RM400/450

Below is a list of common calibration errors and fixes for the CF/CFS57U (Countertop 700 and 750) and the RM400/425 (Handheld 400 and 450).

White calibration error #3:  Make sure grey cap is removed and sample holder is properly closed. (03)
  1. Try cleaning the instrument.
  2. If cleaning does not fix the error, then repair is needed.
White calibration error #4:  White cal error 4.  Invalid reading. (04)
  1. Make sure that you are measuring the white calibration tile.
  2. Try cleaning the instrument.
  3. If you are using the white calibration tile and cleaning did not fix the error, then repair is needed.
White calibration error #5: White calibration failed.  Lamp needs to be replaced. (05)
  1. Try cleaning the instrument.
  2. If cleaning does not fix the error, then repair is needed.
White calibration error #6: Reading is ok, but lamp is weak and should be replaced. (06)
  1. Try cleaning the instrument.
  2. If cleaning does not fix the error, then repair is needed.
White calibration error #7:  White calibration failed.  Make sure grey cap is removed and sample holder is properly closed. (07)
  1. Make sure that the thumb screws, on the bottom of the arm, are tight.
  2. Try cleaning the instrument.
  3. If cleaning does not fix the error, then repair is needed.
Gray cap check failure error:  This occurs when calibration is on the last step, measuring to verify gray cap has been replaced.
  1. Reboot the computer.
  2. Try cleaning the instrument.
  3. If rebooting and cleaning does not fix the problem, then repair is needed.

14: Cell error
  1. Reboot the computer and power cycling the instrument.
  2. If rebooting the computer and power cycling the instrument does not fix the error, then repair is needed.
15: High black error
  1. Reboot the computer.
  2. Try cleaning the instrument.
  3. If rebooting the computer and cleaning does not fix the error, then repair is needed.
16: Black cal error
  1. Try cleaning the instrument.
  2. If cleaning does not fix the error, then repair is needed.
17: Bad spot
  1. Try cleaning the instrument.
  2. If cleaning does not fix the error, then repair is needed.
1C: Memory overflow error
  1. Reboot the computer and power cycle the instrument.
  2. If rebooting the computer and power cycling the instrument does not fix the error, then repair is needed.
22: Motor error
  1. Try cleaning the instrument.
  2. If cleaning does not fix the error, then repair is needed.
23: Power error
  1. Reboot the computer and power cycle the instrument.
  2. If rebooting the computer and power cycling the instrument does not fix the error, then repair is needed.
25: Switch error
  1. Reboot the computer and power cycle the instrument.
  2. If rebooting the computer and power cycling the instrument does not fix the error, then repair is needed.
29: White cal error
  1. Try cleaning the instrument.
  2. If cleaning does not fix the error, then repair is needed.

  1. Try cleaning the instrument.
  2. If cleaning does not fix the error, then repair is needed.
2D: Lamp failure
  1. Try cleaning the instrument.
  2. If cleaning does not fix the error, then repair is needed.
