What does Dot Diameter Mean?

The diameter of dots measured with the iCPlate2 is displayed in micrometers. The calculation is based on a circular dot of the same surface area.

For this reason, the dot diameter is not shown in the middle tones for elliptical dots in AM screening, or for other dots that are connected to one another. In a regular screen, the dot diameter will always be shown if the dot area has closed dots (highlights and shadows).

The image analysis algorithms make it possible to display the dot diameter for stochastic screen when the dot area is smaller than 10%. In the highlights, the diameter of the dot is displayed, as the shadows the diameter of the hole is displayed.
