Resetting an X-Rite SP68, SP78, SP88, SP98

Under some conditions it becomes necessary to reset the microprocessor in an X-Rite SP series (spherical) spectrophotometer. To return the instrument to all factory defaults proceed as follows:

Remove external power from the unit.
Unlock the instrument shoe and wake the unit.
Simultaneously press and hold keys 1, 2, and 4.
While still holding these keys, press the POWER key at the rear of the unit.
The SP## will immediately display "Diagnostic Testing".
After several seconds it will display "Memory Initialized by Operator; Press any Key".

The unit is now returned to factory defaults. Immediately following this procedure you must continue by calibrating the unit before measurements may be taken.
