Video Card Controls via video drivers

Many newer video cards allow adjusting brightness, contrast, gamma and color through their driver software and controls. Under no circumstances should these be used when calibrating and/or profiling a display. These controls will interfere with the corrections being made by the profiling software and result in a defective profile and in many cases, a strange looking display.
