FAQ: Pantone Color Manager and Wacom colorimeter

Owners of Wacom Cintiq 27" display/tablets can use a custom Wacom branded version of the i1Display PRO to profile their Cintiq. This device will also activate Pantone Color Manager.

Owners of the Wacom Cintiq 27" display/tablet are able to use a customized version of X-Rite's i1Profiler software, which is able to save ICC profiles directly to the look up tables inside the Wacom device. Using that device would require that you also use the Wacom Calibration software that comes with the Wacom colorimeter. Using the Wacom branded device along with the Wacom software will be able to take advantage of a much more comprehensive calibration and profiling method, vs. using the i1Display PRO and i1Profiler software combination which can be used with any model and brand of computer connected monitor.

Owners of the i1Display PRO device are able to download, install and activate the Pantone Color Manager software. This program allows you to have full electronic versions of the Pantone libraries as well as be able to export those libraries to their Adobe Creative Suite programs. We wanted to point out to the owners of the Wacom branded version of the i1Display PRO, they will also be able to activate Pantone Color Manager software by connecting their Wacom device.

So if you were on the fence about whether you wanted to invest in the Wacom colorimeter to profile the Cintiq, perhaps the added feature of getting Pantone Color Manager software will help you to decide.
