The need for non-contact color measurement comes from businesses in a range of industries. Food, beverages, and cosmetics, for example, all produce samples that cannot come in contact with the measurement device. Other industries, like paints, require users to create a dry sample that can be tested for color accuracy. These testing processes are time consuming and often yield results that are not reliable.
