The most advanced range of multi-angle spectrophotometers available today, the MA-T12, MA-T6, and MA-5 QC combine color imaging with multi-angle technology to deliver precise color measurements on special effect paints and finishes. These devices decrease downtime on paint, coating, assembly, and production lines, reduce scrap rates, and offer fast root cause analysis if color problems are discovered.

When combined with EFX QC software, X-Rite multi-angle spectrophotometers communicate color standards and tolerances across complex supply chains and provide accurate qc to simplify processes and speed production. MA-5 QC Multi-Angle Spectrophotometer

For 5 Angle Spectral Measurement

This compact and lightweight spectrophotometer is designed for consistent quality control and color measurement of effect finishes on the production floor, in the lab, and in the field.

Master Sparkle and Coarseness with MA-T12 and MA-T6

The easy-to-use MA-T family of multi-angle spectrophotometers sets a new industry standard for extreme effect finishes. Featuring an RGB camera and white light illumination (A, C, D50, D65, F2, F7, F11 & F1) and inter-instrument agreement of 0.18 ΔE2000 avg. on BCRA, these devices measure color, sparkle and coarseness with greater repeatability and reproducibility to identify and reduce defects.

The MA-T offers an intuitive and easy to use design. The centrally located aperture and 3 positioning pins ensure stable measurements, while the touch screen navigation and color display offer simple operation. A real-time preview verifies the correct the measurement area.

Included with the MA-T6 and MA-T12, EFX QC is a cloud-based software solution that offers new visual tools, including performance trend charts and stored measurement images, to create a more efficient quality assurance program across the supply chain. Real-time performance monitoring and actionable insights help troubleshoot out-of-tolerance colors.

MA-T12: Uses 12 angles of measurement (6 illumination sources and 2 pick-ups) and color imaging to fully characterize and measure color shifting pigments.

MA-T6: Uses 6 angles of measurement (6 illumination sources and 1 pick-up) and color imaging to visualize, track, and troubleshoot appearance color and coarseness for development and QC.

Gather Actionable Color Data for Special Effect Finishes with MA-5 QC

Built with quality control managers in mind, the cost-effective MA-5 QC is a compact and lightweight spectrophotometer that uses 5 measurement angles to ensure color harmony on metallic colors and effect finishes. The MA-5 QC can identify color defects early in the manufacturing process - on the automotive production floor, in the lab and in the field - to avoid unnecessary rework and speed up time to market.

Featuring strategically placed optics at the tip and position indicator lights, MA-5 QC is 60% faster, 50% lighter, and 40% more compact than any other five-angle device on the market to measure curved surfaces like rear bumpers, door handles, and vehicle mirror bodies. It captures measurements in less than 2.5 seconds and delivers >95% repeatability within 0.16ΔdE when tested on 196 samples that included solid, metallic, and pearlescent effects. It can even be programmed to collect multiple data points quickly for automated jobs.

The intuitive touch screen data display provides green and red pass/fail tolerance lights and a first-to-market on-screen temperature preview to gauge whether sample temperature is affecting color data. When combined with EFX QC software, the MA-5 QC can analyze data with ease.
