Some software applications intended for Mac computers based on PowerPC processors will not run on Macs with Intel processors. Therefore, Apple included a utility called Rosetta on the operating system installation disk to allow these programs to run successfully. Earlier version of Apple operating systems included Rosetta by default, however this is not the case with Snow Leopard.
If you are running Snow Leopard (Mac OS 10.6) and attempting to install any of the following programs, you will be presented with a message prompting you to download and install Rosetta from Apple. Make sure that you are connected to the internet and click the Install button in the Rosetta dialog. Rosetta will be downloaded and installed for you automatically.
