If the Shadevision instrument has been used on this PC, the customer will need to remove the driver from "Device Manager". The instrument must be docked and plugged into the USB port. Right click "My Computer", and then left click "Properties" > "Hardware" > "Device Manager" to bring up the "Device Manager" window. Left click the plus sign in front of "X-Rite USB", right click on "ShadeVision" that appears under that, and then select "Delete" or "Uninstall". Unplug the USB.
Close all open programs. Double click on "Add or Remove Programs" from the computer's "Control Panel".
Select "ShadeVision" and then select "Remove" to initiate the uninstall. Don't forget to reboot the computer after uninstalling.
After the computer has restarted, the "X-Rite" folder will need to be removed. Right click "Start", and then left click "Explore". If this is installed in the default location, left click the plus signs in front of "Local Disk (C:) and "Program Files" to locate the "X-Rite" folder. Right click on the folder and then select "Delete" or "Remove" and then select "Yes" in the resulting confirmation window.
Empty the computer's recycle bin and then reboot the computer.
