Outlook MAPI settings for ShadeVision

If a ShadeVision is unable to e-mail directly out of the application on a PC with Microsoft Outlook properly installed, it could be a MAPI setting problem.

Microsoft Outlook can be installedin two different modes: the Internet Mail Only (IMO) and the Corporate or Workgroup (CW).  A different Messaging Application Program Interface (MAPI) subsystem is installed for each of these modes.  The MAPI subsystem installed in the IMO mode provides minimal MAPI support for the basic functionality of Microsoft Outlook.  ShadeVision requires full MAPI support in order to e-mail directly out of the application.  If aregistered ShadeVision user has Microsoft Outlook set up as their default mail and can right-click a file, select "Send to" > "Mail recipient", and it properly attaches the file to an e-mail...but is unable to directly e-mail ShadeVision work orders, the MAPI settings should be corrected by using the following instructions.

  1. Click on the following link - MAPI Setup.

  2. Left click on "SV_SetUpMAPI.exe" and then "Save" in the "File Download" window.  Select a location to save the file ("Desktop", "My Documents", etc...)

  3. Double click the "SV_SetUpMAPI.exe" self-extracting zip file, select a location to save the file to (default is "c:\temp\"), and then select "Unzip" to save the file to that location.

  4. Simply double click on the "setmapi.exe" file and then click "OK" in the resulting confirmation window.

***Note - If this does not correct the problem you can undo these settings by double clicking the "setmapi.exe" file and then hold down 'Ctrl' and 'Shift' keys while clicking "OK" in the confirmation window. Select "OK" in each of the next two windows.
