Customers might need to know how to clean their Shade-X instrument
Ensure that the Shade-X instrument is clean before measuring a patient.
The use of a properly prepared enzymatic cleaner, water, disinfecting solution, disinfecting wipes, or isopropyl alcohol is recommended for cleaning. Please do not use any of the following chemicals in the cleaning process:
Iodophor based solutions
Acidic solutions with pH < 2.6
Basic solutions with pH > 12.49
To clean and/or disinfect the instrument, follow these simple instructions:
Remove the used disposable barrier (if used) and dispose of properly.
Remove and discard the used disposable tip.
Wipe down the Shade-X instrument with an appropriate cleaner/disinfectant per manufacturer's guidelines.
The instrument CANNOT BE IMMERSED in liquids. Wipe to clean. Do not spray any cleaner or disinfectant directly onto the instrument.
Carefully remove any residue on the instrument with a water damped cloth and then wipe dry with a soft clean cloth.
Carefully remove any residue on the optics face (clear tip of instrument) with a water damped cloth and then wipe dry with a lint free cloth such as a 2 x 2 gauze pad. Clean, smear free optics are critical to instrument performance. Use a soft cloth and avoid solvents to prevent damage to the optical surface.
It is critical to confirm that there are no smudges or fingerprints on the optical surface.
Complete instructions for disinfecting/cleaning Shade-X can be accessed in the "Shade-X User Manual". Follow the link in the Additional Information below.
