Color as You Imagined It”: process control for packaging production

SWITZERLAND, Regensdorf, October 25, 2016 X-Rite Incorporated, a global leader in color science and technology, and its subsidiary Pantone LLC, will demonstrate its latest color-related solutions for the labels and packaging industry at All4Pack, the global marketplace for packaging, scheduled for 14 to 17 November in Paris. Located in Stand 6R132 at the show, the X-Rite Pantone booth features the theme ‘Color as You Imagined It’ and showcases the industry’s most complete end-to-end color measurement, management and process control solutions.

“The business of package converting is growing increasingly competitive and is in a period of transformation,” said Andrea Vannaci, Sales Director, South Europe, X-Rite Pantone. “Demand for faster time to market, smaller lot sizes, and more packaging variation can be challenging to address. A key success factor is the ability to ensure that colors that are specified are actually achieved in the end product. That’s what we mean by our ‘Color as You Imagined It’ theme, ensuring reliable color the first and every time goes a long way toward streamlining the production process and keeping brand owner clients happy. We are excited to be bringing an end-to-end solution set to All4Pack that is designed to help packaging converters achieve this aim profitably.”

At the show, X-Rite Pantone will be featuring:

  • IntelliTrax2, the ideal color management solution for high-end, high-speed printing/converting operations with the ability to scan the color bar on a typical press sheet in less than 10 seconds. IntelliTrax2 reports results on screen instantly so press operators can quickly make adjustments, even before color drift is visible to the human eye, reducing makeready time and waste.

  • InkFormulation Software, a fast, accurate, consistent ink formulation, formula creation, storage, approval and retrieval solution for offset, flexo, gravure and screen-printing inks. It gives ink suppliers and packaging converters flexibility and control over ink recipes and assortments, and makes it easier to use leftover inks and press returns, reducing overall ink inventories.

  • PantoneLIVE, a suite of products, licenses and services enabling secure access to a database of spectrally defined Pantone® and brand spot color standards via a partner ecosystem. It provides a cloud-based database of digital color standards that makes it easy to share accurate and achievable colors across the packaging print supply chain, regardless of the print technology, substrate or ink system being used.

  • ColorCert Suite, a set of process control modules that simplifies color communication across all internal and external stakeholders, from prepress and the ink room to production process control, managing precise color and print specifications and uniting traditional silos of information into one common workflow. Modules include:

  • ColorCert Desktop Tools enable the accurate creation of color specifications and process controls at multiple points throughout the packaging workflow.

  • ColorCert ScoreCard Server combines reporting and statistical process control to provide brands, packaging converters and premedia professionals with an easy-to-use dashboard for the monitoring of print quality by supplier, plant, machine, customer, work type, and more.

  • ColorCert Repository Server, a secure, online asset management solution for storing, managing and deploying packaging color assets so that the most up-to-date assets are always being used and the packaging workflow is optimized.

  • eXact Xp, a handheld spectrophotometer that ensures accurate printing of both CMYK and spot colors on flexible films as well as leveraging industry standards for process control. It is designed to meet standards and tolerances, no matter how exacting, and supports all leading print specifications so printers and converters can efficiently monitor color processes.

“We are looking forward to discussing with visitors to our stand their issues related to color specification, communication, measurement and management during the show,” Vannaci added. “We will be conducting hands-on demonstrations of these industry-leading solutions, showing visitors how they work together to help packaging converters take control of managing and producing color. Each individual solution brings its own value, but together they are a force multiplier that can revolutionize packaging production, delivering ‘Color as You Imagined It’.”

Visitors to the X-Rite Pantone stand will also be able to take advantage of a number of special promotions and discounts during the show.
